In Sunne, the culture and storytelling tradition is strong.
Here lived and worked the author and Nobel price winner Selma Lagerlöf. Her childhood home Mårbacka is now a memorial estate that is a must-visit when you are in Sunne. Rottneros Park was Ekeby in Selma Lagerlöf's story Gösta Berling's saga. Today the park is a beautiful sculpture and flower park. The park is also the perfect destination for families with children. For those interested in theatre, summer theatre is offered in Berättarladan, värmland's largest barn, converted into a theatre stage. It is located next to Lake Fryken and Rottneros Park just south of Sunne.
The home of author and Nobel price winner Selma Lagerlöf is open for viewing. By taking part in a guided tour of the house, you get an exciting insight into Selma Lagerlöf's life and works. You can also walk in the beautiful garden or relax with a cup of coffee and good homemade bread in the café. Mårbacka is open daily from June to the end of August, but also at selected times for the rest of the year.
Rottneros Park is Ekeby in Selma Lagerlöf's Gösta Berlings Saga. Here you can go an ipod guide and get even more out of your park visit. Rottneros Park is not just an oxygen-saturated flower – and sculpture park filled with scents. There is also a lot of fun for children up to about 12 years old. The coolest thing is THE SHIP in the playground. There are also lots of other play attractions. You can also take a ride on the pirate raft or why not drive on the car track.
BerättarLadan is one of Sweden's largest summer theatres. Västana Teater plays every summer, from midsummer to early September, colourful performances inspired by folk music, dance and storytelling.
The storytelling barn holds 500 spectators and is visited every year by about 25,000 people. Since 2009, the theatre is a regional theatre for Värmland County and thus a county institution.

The campsite's proximity to Sunne city centre means that you have access to a wide range of unique clothing stores, craft and interior design shops, supermarkets, restaurants and much more. Spend a few hours strolling around Sunne's cozy center and feel free to visit the theatre square with its outdoor cafés and which in summer often have different events going on.
Here you can also see the Fairy Tale Wall, one of Sweden's largest murals. It was painted by Marja in Myrom 2014. It is located at the large car park behind Teaterbiografen, next to the shops Entré and Lindex.
Just on the other side of the main road is Selma Spa+. Here you can book a full day at the spa and pamper yourself thoroughly. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, fruit and water bar, bath or jacuzzi. In Östra Ämtervik you can find Alma Löv Museum that shows contemporary art in different and exciting ways.
The main building Paleis Oranjestraat is a converted three-storey barn, which in addition to art exhibitions also houses a theatre salon and café. Around the pastures and forest groves are around about ten pavilions that both show art and are works of art in themselves.
